Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister and Hyderabad in-charge Minister, Ponnam Prabhakar, on Tuesday said that elaborate arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of the 11-day Ganesh festival in the city.
Chairing a review meeting with senior officials, the Minister emphasized that the festival should be celebrated on a grand and spectacular note. He stressed the need for proper coordination among all departments including police, municipal, electricity, and Roads & Buildings.
Prabhakar said it is the responsibility of the district administration to ensure safety and smooth functioning at Ganesh pandals. He particularly highlighted the importance of preventing traffic congestion and related inconveniences during the festivities.
The Minister directed that vehicles be arranged for organizers on the day of the Ganesh immersion procession. He also instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all pandals.
He recalled that last year, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had extended free electricity to Ganesh pandals. The Minister assured that the government would once again provide all necessary support this year.
Prabhakar underlined that Ganesh Chaturthi is the biggest celebration in Hyderabad. He said effective planning is required to manage the large gatherings expected during the festival.
The review meeting was attended by DGP Jitender, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand, Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, and other senior officials.
