Punjab Rabi Marketing 2026-27 wheat procurement readiness begins as the state starts advance planning for the next Rabi season. The first paragraph highlights that readiness begins now, and this message appears again later in the article. Punjab Rabi Marketing 2026-27 wheat procurement readiness begins with a focus on smooth operations and timely arrangements.
Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak chaired a high-level review meeting at Anaj Bhawan. He assessed the early preparations for the Wheat Procurement Season for RMS 2026–27.
The main agenda centred on ensuring the availability of wooden crates. These crates play a key role in safe procurement and storage. Officials shared that PUNGRAIN has floated tenders for 12 lakh wooden crates. The Punjab State Forest Development Corporation has committed to supplying 1 lakh crates.
Kataruchak held detailed discussions with officers from both Food Supply and Forest departments. He urged the Managing Director of the Forest Development Corporation to increase the quantity beyond 1 lakh crates. This step, he said, will help maintain uninterrupted procurement during peak days.
He also stressed the importance of advance coordination. Early planning reduces logistical pressure and improves efficiency.
Senior officials present included Rahul Tiwari, Priyank Bharti, Varinder Kumar Sharma, Dharminder Sharma, Praveen Kumar and Anjuman Bhaskar. Their involvement showed strong inter-departmental cooperation for RMS 2026–27.
