India and Telangana Chart Strategic Roadmap for Quantum Technology
NITI Aayog has released India’s first comprehensive roadmap for quantum technology, highlighting the country’s potential to become a global leader in this transformative field. The roadmap identifies key focus areas including quantum computing, communication, sensing, and cryptography, and emphasizes the importance of research, skill development, and private-sector engagement to accelerate innovation.
Telangana state leaders reiterated their commitment to positioning the state at the forefront of quantum research and applications. The Telangana Quantum Strategy aims to foster collaboration between academic institutions, industry, and government, establish specialized research centers, and nurture a skilled workforce to meet emerging technological demands.
Officials highlighted that India has a rare opportunity to influence the global trajectory of foundational technologies like quantum computing, with applications spanning healthcare, finance, defense, and advanced manufacturing. The roadmap and state strategy together seek to create an ecosystem that promotes innovation, investment, and global competitiveness in quantum technology.
