The Patna Police Transfer List has triggered widespread discussion after a major reshuffle in the district police setup. On Friday, Patna SSP Kartikeya K. Sharma ordered large-scale transfers to strengthen administration and improve efficiency. The Patna Police Transfer List shows that 46 police station in-charges were shifted, while 12 officers were placed on line duty.
According to officials, new SHOs have been posted in 46 police stations across Patna. Several key police stations, including Kotwali, Kadamkuan, Secretariat, and Srikrishnapuri, saw changes in leadership. The move aims to refresh policing and reduce long-term stagnation at stations.
Senior officers clarified that the reshuffle was done purely from an administrative point of view. Officers who had remained at the same post for a long time were moved, and new officers were given fresh responsibilities. Many inspectors were assigned new charges across urban, rural, and special units.
At the same time, 12 station heads were placed on line duty. These include SHOs from Khagaul, Mokama, Secretariat, Mehdiganj, Women Police Station, SC/ST Police Station, Agamkuan, Masaurhi, Dhanarua, Belchi, Bikram, and IIT Amhara.
Police sources say the changes are expected to improve law and order and boost accountability in the district.
