The Purnia Engineering College student death has sent shockwaves across Bihar and raised serious concerns about student safety. A first-semester student was found dead inside a private lodge under the Maranga police station area.
The deceased was identified as Sujata Kumari (19), a student of Purnia Engineering College and a resident of Darbhanga district. She was staying in a private lodge at Shastri Nagar while pursuing her studies.
According to reports, her room door remained open until around 10 a.m. on Tuesday. When she did not respond to repeated calls, the lodge owner and other students broke open the door.
Inside, they found Sujata hanging from a noose. The incident was immediately reported to the police and her family.
Family members said Sujata had spoken to them via video call the previous night. She appeared normal and only mentioned minor health issues.
The forensic science laboratory team inspected the scene and collected evidence. Police confirmed that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Officials stated that the Purnia Engineering College student death is under investigation, and all angles are being examined.
