The Nalanda murder case has shocked Bihar after a minor boy allegedly shot his own mother dead over a demand for Rs 3,500. The Nalanda murder took place in Galimpur village under the Karayparsurai police station area.

The victim, 48-year-old Munni Devi Mahato, was at home when her son asked her for money. When she refused, a heated argument followed. In anger, the boy allegedly took out a country-made pistol and fired at her.

Hearing the gunshot, villagers rushed to the house. Munni Devi was taken to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Panic spread across the village after the incident.

Police reached the spot soon after. The body was sent for post-mortem. Officers also began collecting evidence from the house.

This family had already seen tragedy. About five years ago, Munni Devi’s husband was murdered. She was named as an accused in that case and later came out on bail. Locals say family relations remained tense even after her release.

The minor boy escaped after the shooting. Police teams are searching for him and questioning relatives and villagers.

The brutal Nalanda murder has left the village in deep shock.
