A group of Bihar leaders camping in Delhi to meet Congress high command has been waiting for the past 10 days, but no meeting has taken place so far.
The leaders reached the national capital soon after the Bihar assembly election results. They want to discuss several issues, including ticket distribution and campaign management. Party leaders from Bihar say they were assured a meeting with the top leadership once elections were over.
The group is hoping to meet Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi. However, both leaders remain unavailable. Kharge is busy with Parliament-related work, while Rahul Gandhi is currently on an overseas visit. Due to this, the Bihar leaders continue to wait in Delhi.
Discontent is growing within the Bihar unit of the Congress after the party’s poor performance in the elections. Several leaders believe serious changes are needed in strategy. Some feel the party should rethink its alliance approach and work more on strengthening its organisation at the grassroots level in Bihar.
