Emotional Debate in A.P. Cabinet Over Annamayya District Headquarters Issue

Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy became emotional while expressing concerns over proposals to shift the district headquarters from Rayachoti, reflecting the strong sentiments attached to the issue by local representatives and the public.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu intervened to reassure ministers that the government remains committed to balanced development across all regions of the district. He emphasized that administrative decisions would be taken after carefully considering public sentiment, convenience, and long-term development needs. The Chief Minister also assured that Rayachoti would continue to receive adequate government institutions, infrastructure projects, and investment regardless of the final decision on the headquarters.
The discussion highlighted the political and emotional sensitivity surrounding district reorganisation and administrative locations. The Cabinet ultimately agreed that development, accessibility, and equitable distribution of government facilities would guide future decisions on the Annamayya district headquarters.
