Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Approves Dagadarthi Airport Project
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Dagadarthi airport project, marking a significant step in the State’s infrastructure development plans. Located in the Nellore district, the proposed airport aims to enhance connectivity in the region and support economic growth through improved transport facilities.
The project is expected to boost trade, tourism, and employment opportunities, benefiting both local communities and businesses. Officials highlighted that the airport will ease pressure on existing airports in the State and provide a modern aviation facility to cater to increasing passenger and cargo traffic.
The Cabinet approval paves the way for further planning, land acquisition, and construction activities, with a focus on timely implementation and adherence to environmental and safety standards. Authorities also emphasized integrating the airport with road and rail networks to ensure seamless connectivity.
The Dagadarthi airport is seen as a key infrastructure initiative in Andhra Pradesh’s broader strategy to develop regional airports, strengthen economic hubs, and promote balanced regional development.
