Cyber Crime Strategy: Bihar Police Push New Action

Cyber Crime Strategy meeting led by CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary in Patna

Cyber crime strategy was at the top of the agenda as Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary opened a major police conference in Patna. The leaders stressed the need to fight rising online crimes and modern threats with better planning and faster action. Cyber crime strategy remained a key focus throughout the opening session.

The two-day state-level police conference began at the Bihar Police Headquarters. During the event, the chief minister announced a separate cyber crime and security unit. The move aims to improve monitoring, investigation, and prevention of digital fraud. Senior officials also discussed ways to stop drug networks and tackle new challenges in policing.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who also handles the home department, joined top police officers in detailed discussions. They reviewed suggestions from a recent national police chiefs’ meeting and agreed to apply useful ideas at district and police station levels.

DGP Vinay Kumar said cyber threats, drugs, and organised crime pose serious risks for the future. He urged officers to act quickly, adopt technology, and work closely with the public. The conference also connected police units across Bihar through webcast to ensure wide participation.
