Nitish Kumar authorized to select JD(U) legislature party leader after a crucial party meeting held in Patna on Monday. Senior leaders and legislators attended the meeting and unanimously gave this responsibility to the party’s national president.
The decision came after Nitish Kumar stepped down as Chief Minister. Party members said Nitish Kumar authorized to select JD(U) legislature party leader and also choose the deputy leader of the legislative party.
The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s residence at 1 Anne Marg. All JD(U) MLAs, MLCs, and senior leaders participated. Union minister Lalan Singh also arrived from Delhi to attend the meeting.
During the discussion, Nitish Kumar said he will soon travel across Bihar. He plans to meet party workers, understand local issues, and review development work in different districts.
Party leaders said he may stay in Delhi for parliamentary work but will spend most of his time in Bihar to remain active in state politics.
