Chief Minister Nitish Kumar led the cabinet meeting and cleared the proposal along with several other development projects. The government will acquire around 4,000 acres of land for the airport. Officials aim to complete the project by 2030.
The new airport will feature a long runway capable of handling large international aircraft. Leaders believe the project will reduce pressure on Patna’s existing airport and improve travel options for people in north Bihar.
The state has allocated funds for land acquisition and initial development work. Once operational, the airport will boost trade, tourism, and employment across the region.
