Vice President Reviews Rural Welfare and Jobs Push

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan meeting rural development ministers at Parliament House

C. P. Radhakrishnan met Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani at Parliament House to review rural welfare schemes. Officials briefed him on housing, rural employment, skilling, and capacity building initiatives. The meeting focused on accelerating rural transformation and strengthening livelihoods across villages.

Ministers outlined progress in road connectivity, watershed management, social assistance, and digital land record reforms. Key schemes discussed included PMGSY and PMAY-G. The Vice President appreciated the ministry’s efforts toward inclusive development. He stressed that strong rural growth remains central to the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Earlier, at the 57th convocation of Indian Institute of Mass Communication, he addressed journalism graduates. He warned about rising fake news and misinformation challenges. He urged students to uphold truth and integrity in public communication.

Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, he said India lives in its villages. He encouraged young journalists to write fearlessly and responsibly. He also recalled veteran editor A. N. Sivaraman as an inspiration for ethical journalism.
