The Opposition Finalizes Rajya Sabha Candidate for the upcoming election in Bihar, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has chosen senior leader Amrendra Dhari Singh (AD Singh) instead of Tejashwi Yadav. The decision ends days of speculation about whether Tejashwi would move to national politics through the Rajya Sabha.
The Opposition Finalizes Rajya Sabha Candidate as AD Singh prepares to file his nomination. He currently serves as a Rajya Sabha MP, and his term will end on 9 April. The party has decided to give him another chance in the upcoming election.
The Rajya Sabha elections involve 37 seats across the country. Bihar will vote for five seats, with polling scheduled for 16 March.
RJD faces a tough contest because the opposition bloc has only 35 MLAs in the Bihar Assembly. A candidate needs support from 41 MLAs to secure victory. The result could depend on support from smaller parties or independent legislators.
