The Patna Water Metro will soon start river transport in Bihar’s capital. The Patna Water Metro project plans to run its first route between Gandhi Ghat and Gaighat on the Ganga River. The service will give people a faster and cleaner travel option in Patna.
The government plans to use modern electric boats for the service. These boats will move along the river like a floating metro. Passengers will get comfortable seating and basic facilities during the journey. Authorities also plan to keep ticket prices affordable for daily commuters.
Officials also want to expand the project later. Future routes may connect Patna with Hajipur and Sonpur. Survey teams have already studied these areas for possible water metro routes.
The project will improve city transport and reduce road traffic. It will also create a new attraction for tourists visiting the Ganga riverfront.
