Patna: The Nishant Kumar Deputy CM claim has created fresh political discussion in Bihar. A JD(U) MLA said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, could become the next deputy chief minister of the state.
The Nishant Kumar Deputy CM speculation started after JD(U) MLA Harivansh Narayan Singh said party leaders had discussed giving Nishant a key role in the government. According to him, several party members supported the idea during internal discussions.
Singh also said Nishant Kumar might soon enter active politics and formally join the Janata Dal (United). Party leaders are considering sending him to the Bihar Legislative Council through upcoming elections so he can hold an important post.
If he becomes a member of the council, Nishant could later take charge as deputy chief minister in the government. However, the party leadership has not made any official announcement yet.
The statement has increased political speculation in Bihar about leadership changes and the future role of Nitish Kumar’s son.
