Bihar Panchayat Elections 2026 will take place using old delimitation boundaries, as the state has not carried out fresh restructuring of panchayat areas. Officials have already started preparations for the rural polls.
The State Election Commission plans to conduct Bihar Panchayat Elections 2026 likely in November–December. Authorities will follow existing ward and panchayat boundaries without any changes.
The voter list preparation will begin in June 2026. Before that, officials will release Form-1 and invite claims and objections from citizens regarding their electoral details.
This election will also see a major change. For the first time, voters will use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) instead of ballot papers. The new system will allow people to vote for multiple panchayat posts at one place.
Officials will also manage booth setup, voter verification, and election logistics at the district level to ensure smooth polling.
