The Nalanda Stampede at Sheetla Mata Temple in Bihar turned a day of devotion into a heartbreaking tragedy. The incident happened in Maghra village when a huge crowd gathered for prayers. Suddenly panic spread among devotees, leading to a deadly rush. At least eight women lost their lives and several others were injured.
Eyewitnesses shared painful memories of the Nalanda Stampede. One woman said her mother pushed her toward the stairs to save her from the crushing crowd. In her final moments, the mother reportedly told her daughter, “Go daughter, we will not survive,” before the crowd separated them.
Relatives cried outside hospitals as bodies were taken back to their villages. Several children lost their mothers in the tragedy, leaving many families shattered.
Officials have started an investigation into the incident. Early reports suggest overcrowding and poor crowd management during the temple gathering may have triggered the deadly stampede.
