Bihar Police will buy 4,000 pistols and 1.2 lakh rifle bullets to strengthen its force. The state government approved ₹43 crore for new weapons and ammunition to help officers fight crime effectively.
The plan includes purchasing 9 mm automatic pistols from the Ishapore Rifle Factory. About 1.2 lakh rifle bullets for SLR and INSAS rifles will come from factories in Pune and Varanagar. These supplies will replace old stock and ensure police can practice regularly and perform duties safely.
Officials said the funds cover taxes and logistics. Procurement has already started. The move aims to improve law and order and equip officers to face security challenges.
