The Arrah murder case shocked residents of Bhojpur district after criminals shot a young man dead in broad daylight. The incident took place in Bankat village under Garhani police station in Arrah on Saturday.
According to police, the victim, Ritesh Singh alias Bhunwar, was physically disabled. He had dropped his wife, a school teacher, at her school and was returning home on his three-wheeler scooter when attackers stopped him on the road.
The criminals fired a bullet at close range and hit him in the head. Ritesh died on the spot. His crutches and scooter were found lying near the scene, which created panic in the village.
Police suspect that the Arrah murder case may be linked to an old rivalry. Ritesh was reportedly the brother of an accused in last year’s triple murder case in the area.
Police reached the spot, sent the body for post-mortem, and started an investigation to identify the attackers.
