The Harivansh Narayan Singh Rajya Sabha Nomination has started a political debate. Leaders from the Congress party questioned the government’s decision. They said the government could have sent him to Parliament through the BJP instead of using a nominated seat.
President Droupadi Murmu nominated Harivansh Narayan Singh to the Rajya Sabha. The Harivansh Narayan Singh Rajya Sabha Nomination fills the seat that became vacant after Ranjan Gogoi finished his term.
Congress leader Surendra Rajput criticised the move. He said nominated seats should go to people who made strong contributions in fields like art, literature, science, or social work.
Harivansh earlier served two terms in the Rajya Sabha from Bihar. He belongs to the Janata Dal (United). He also served as Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
With the new nomination, Harivansh will continue his role in Parliament for another term.
