The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has demanded a fair investigation into illegal mining activities allegedly led by Kavali TDP MLA, Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy. A team of YSRCP leaders, including MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy, former MLA Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah, Nellore rural in-charge Anam Vijayakumar Reddy, and former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy, presented a formal representation to the District Collector on Monday.
The YSRCP leaders accused Dagumati Venkata Krishna Reddy of running a quarry in Kavali where illegal mining activities continue. They highlighted an incident when staff from former Kavali MLA Ramireddy Pratap Kumar Reddy’s office attempted to fly a drone at the quarry to gather evidence. The police filed an attempt to murder case against the staff, even though Dagumati was not present at the site.
The YSRCP also demanded an investigation into a reported Rs 900 crore scam involving the MLA. Kakani Govardhan Reddy warned that if the Collector fails to order a thorough probe, his party will call for a ‘Chalo Annavaram’ protest.
