The Samrat Choudhary Floor Test was expected to pass without difficulty. The National Democratic Alliance already holds strong numbers in the 243-member Bihar Assembly. Reports say the alliance has the backing of about 201 MLAs. This gives the government a clear two-thirds majority.
During the debate, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav criticised the political developments that led to the new government. He raised several questions about the alliance’s decisions.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary defended the government’s position in the House. He said the alliance has a strong mandate to govern Bihar. With the trust vote secured, the NDA government will now focus on its policy agenda.
