The Samrat Choudhary Floor Test triggered sharp political exchanges in the Bihar Assembly. Before Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary proved his majority, JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar challenged RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav to demand a vote division during the trust motion.
Neeraj Kumar said that if Tejashwi had the courage, he should ask for voting instead of letting the motion pass through a voice vote. However, the opposition did not request a formal vote during the Samrat Choudhary Floor Test, and the Speaker declared the trust motion passed by voice vote.
The JD(U) leader claimed that a vote division could expose divisions within the RJD. According to him, some RJD legislators might not support the party if a proper vote took place in the House.
Political observers linked the tension to earlier cross-voting during recent parliamentary elections, where several opposition legislators reportedly did not follow the party line.
The NDA currently holds a strong majority in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, while the opposition continues to question the government’s political strategy.
