According to reports, armed attackers entered the Nagar Parishad office and suddenly started firing. Their main target was the municipal chairperson. The Executive Officer (EO) confronted the attackers and tried to stop them during the chaos. The gunmen shot him during the confrontation.
The injured EO was rushed to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The chairperson also suffered multiple bullet injuries and remains in critical condition. CCTV cameras installed in the office captured the entire incident, and the footage is now helping police identify the attackers.
Police teams reached the spot soon after the firing. Authorities launched a search operation to arrest the criminals. Security around government offices in the area has been tightened as the investigation continues.
