Sultanganj EO murder accused Ramdhani Yadav killed in a police encounter early Wednesday in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district. Police tracked him after the shocking killing of Executive Officer Krishna Bhushan inside the Sultanganj Nagar Parishad office. The incident created strong reactions across the state.
According to police, Ramdhani Yadav killed was the main accused in the murder of EO Krishna Bhushan. Officers surrounded him during a search operation. He allegedly opened fire on the police team, which triggered a gunfight. Police returned fire and Ramdhani Yadav died from bullet injuries. Three police personnel also suffered injuries during the encounter.
Investigators say Yadav was a local mafia figure who controlled illegal collections and sand transport at the Ganga ghats. Officials believe tensions grew after EO Krishna Bhushan began strict action against illegal activities in the area.
Ramdhani Yadav’s wife, Neelam Devi, is active in local politics and contested the 2020 Bihar Assembly election from Sultanganj on a Lok Janshakti Party ticket.
Police continue to investigate the wider network behind the crime.
