TVK Chief Vijay Meets Governor in Chennai as political activity intensifies in Tamil Nadu after the recent Assembly elections. The meeting took place at Raj Bhavan where the TVK leader submitted his claim to form the new government. Actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay leads the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which won 108 seats in the 234-member Assembly. However, the party still needs 118 seats to secure a clear majority.
The Governor, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, reportedly asked Vijay to prove majority support before the swearing-in ceremony. Political parties are now holding discussions and exploring alliances to reach the required number of seats.
Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress has extended support to TVK, increasing the chances of government formation. Talks with smaller parties are still ongoing as the state waits for clarity on the next government.
