Rs 2.83 crore cash found on road in Indore inside abandoned bags

The discovery of Rs 2.83 crore cash found on road shocked police in Indore after three suspicious bags were discovered on the Sanwer–Ujjain highway. A local farmer noticed the unattended bags lying under a tree near Bhutta Square and informed the police.

Police rushed to the spot and opened the bags. Inside, they found hundreds of bundles of ₹500 notes. Initial estimates suggested the total amount could be around ₹2.83 crore. The Rs 2.83 crore cash found on road quickly drew attention and raised serious concerns among investigators.

During closer inspection, officers discovered something unusual. Only a few real currency notes appeared on the top and bottom of the bundles. Many packets contained fake notes and coloured paper inside.

Police suspect the bags may be linked to a large fraud or illegal financial transaction. Authorities have seized the suspicious cash and launched an investigation. Officers are now examining CCTV footage from nearby highways to identify who left the bags and why.
