The AP govt cost-cutting measures plan came up for discussion during a cabinet meeting in Andhra Pradesh. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said the AP govt cost-cutting measures should not create fear among the public. He advised the government to inform people clearly before announcing any new decisions. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu agreed with the suggestion.
During the meeting, the government decided that people should get about 48 hours’ notice before any major decision is implemented. Officials were also asked to study ways to reduce expenses in different departments. The government is considering steps such as work-from-home options and other cost-saving methods.
The government has already started showing examples of cost control. The Chief Minister reduced his convoy to four vehicles. Other ministers also cut down their convoy sizes during official visits. Pawan Kalyan also ordered a reduction in his convoy during tours.
The cabinet also approved a major horticulture development plan worth ₹1 lakh crore for the Rayalaseema and Prakasam regions.
