The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out major raids on the houses and offices of Deputy Collector Vamsi Mohan in Ranga Reddy district on Thursday. Officials launched simultaneous searches at eight locations in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy after receiving information about alleged illegal assets. ACB raids on Deputy Collector Vamsi Mohan created a huge buzz across Telangana.
Investigators suspect that Vamsi Mohan misused his official position while working as an RDO in different areas. According to ACB officials, he allegedly helped private persons gain government land benefits and received expensive properties in return. ACB raids on Deputy Collector Vamsi Mohan also uncovered allegations linked to land registrations and gift deeds.
Officials reportedly found evidence that nearly eight acres of government land near Abdullapurmet and Piglipuram got registered in the name of his relative. The agency also suspects that a real estate businessman gifted him 10 open plots as illegal favors. Further investigation is continuing.
