CPI Telangana leader Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao strongly criticized the cases filed against Professor Nageshwar in Andhra Pradesh. He said the Professor Nageshwar cases were unfortunate and unnecessary. He also stated that Professor Nageshwar had already clarified and withdrawn his comments, yet police cases continued.
Kunamneni said Professor Nageshwar has spent decades analyzing political, social, and economic issues and should be respected as a public intellectual. He added that some political groups misunderstood the remarks and reacted aggressively. According to him, democratic societies should encourage discussions instead of using legal action against analysts and intellectuals.
The CPI leader urged political parties to advise their workers to withdraw the complaints filed against Professor Nageshwar. He warned that threatening intellectuals with cases could harm democratic values and public debate in society.
