New Delhi: Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to visit flood-affected areas in Punjab on Thursday to evaluate the extent of the damage and the needs of impacted farmers.
On Wednesday, Chouhan spoke with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to gain a detailed understanding of the situation caused by heavy rainfall in the state. He emphasized the Centre’s commitment to supporting Punjab during this crisis.
“I will reach Punjab tomorrow morning and meet my brothers and sisters in the flood-affected areas. In this hour of crisis, the Centre stands firmly with them and will provide all possible assistance,” the minister said.
During his visit, Chouhan is expected to coordinate relief measures, review ongoing flood mitigation efforts, and discuss immediate steps to help farmers recover. The visit underlines the government’s proactive approach in managing natural disasters and ensuring timely support to affected communities.
