Tamil Nadu Chief Minister CM Vijay has announced a major relief for the Tamil film industry. The government has now allowed theatres across the state to screen five shows a day for newly released Tamil films during their first week. CM Vijay said the move will help theatre owners and film producers increase revenue.
The Tamil film industry welcomed the decision and thanked CM Vijay for supporting cinema halls and movie makers. Earlier, theatres needed special permission from district officials to screen a fifth show. Under the new rule, theatre owners no longer need separate approval.
The Tamil Nadu government also allowed five shows on weekends, public holidays, and local festival days. The rule changes come after film industry representatives met CM Vijay and requested support for theatres facing financial pressure. Industry leaders believe the decision will improve audience reach and strengthen the theatre business in the state.
