Gade Venkat Reddy passes away at age 86 in Hyderabad

Former Andhra Pradesh minister and senior politician Gade Venkat Reddy passed away on Friday in Hyderabad. Gade Venkat Reddy was 86 years old and had been suffering from age-related health problems for the past few days.

Family members said he breathed his last at his residence in Hyderabad. Several political leaders expressed grief over his death and remembered his long public service career.

Gade Venkat Reddy was born on July 10, 1940, in Pavuluru village of Prakasam district. He completed his LLB before entering politics. He first became an MLA in 1967 from the Parchur constituency.

During his political career, he served as a minister in the governments of Nedurumalli Janardhana Reddy, Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, and Konijeti Rosaiah. He also represented Bapatla constituency as MLA.

After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, he stayed away from active politics for some time. Later, he joined different political parties before retiring from public life.
