Teacher Harassed During Bihar Bandh Sparks Outrage

Teacher harassed during Bihar bandh protest

A Bihar bandh called by the NDA turned tense in Jehanabad after BJP workers allegedly harassed a woman teacher. The incident has triggered sharp political reactions, especially after the video went viral.

On Saturday, BJP workers blocked roads and forced shops to shut in protest against abuses directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother. At Arwal Morh, a teacher named Deepti Rani was on her way to school when BJP workers allegedly stopped her vehicle.

A heated argument followed, and it is claimed that protestors pulled her out and misbehaved with her. They accused her of supporting opposition parties. However, Deepti Rani firmly denied this, stating she had no political links and was only heading to her school. Police and district officials later escorted her safely.

The video of the Bihar bandh incident spread quickly on social media. Opposition parties accused BJP of humiliating women. VIP leader Mukesh Sahni said the incident exposed BJP’s “true identity” of insulting women.

The Bihar bandh incident has now become a flashpoint, with the focus shifting from the bandh’s purpose to the harassment of a woman teacher. Political debate over women’s safety is intensifying.
