In a move set to bring relief to household budgets, Mother Dairy and Safal products have become cheaper after the company announced that it is passing on Goods and Services Tax (GST) benefits directly to consumers.
According to company officials, the revised pricing has been implemented across Mother Dairy’s milk, edible oils, frozen items, and Safal’s range of fruits, vegetables, and packaged products. The price reduction follows recent government directives to ensure that tax benefits under GST reforms are not retained by companies but instead reflected in consumer costs.
Mother Dairy, one of India’s leading milk suppliers, said the new prices are aimed at supporting families coping with rising inflation. “We are committed to ensuring that GST-linked savings are fully passed on to our customers. The revised price list is now effective across all outlets,” a company spokesperson said.
Safal, the horticulture arm of Mother Dairy, is also rolling out discounts on frozen peas, fruit pulps, juices, and vegetable mixes. Consumers can expect reductions ranging from ₹2 to ₹10 depending on the product category. Retailers have been directed to display updated price charts at all booths and stores.
Experts believe this step will not only benefit consumers but also set a benchmark for transparency in India’s FMCG sector. By passing on GST benefits, Mother Dairy reinforces consumer trust while aligning with fair trade practices.
Shoppers across Delhi-NCR and other regions welcomed the announcement, saying it would help ease monthly grocery expenses. Analysts suggest that other food companies may soon follow suit, ensuring competitive pricing in the market.
