In his speech at the *September 17 celebrations* in Telangana Bhavan, *KTR, the Working President of the BRS and former Minister, emphasized the need for a **welfare and development-oriented* government in the state. He expressed a strong desire for a *democratic state free of authoritarian practices*.
KTR highlighted Telangana’s legacy of struggles, from the *armed peasant movement* to the *1969 Telangana movement, and the fight for **democratic Telangana* under the leadership of *KCR. He assured that the **BRS* would continue to fight against any unjust government actions.
Referring to the *Group-1 students’ protests, KTR criticized the government’s authoritarian response, especially as **farmers* suffer due to shortages of *urea* while the government focuses on events like the Olympics. He called for *September 17* to be observed as a *Unity Day*, reiterating that Telangana’s children must continue to fight for a fair and just government.
