Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) said the operation against terrorists in the India-Pakistan conflict was not suspended due to any outside pressure. He directly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim of mediating after ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Mr. Singh made these remarks at the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations held by the Union Government at Parade Grounds in Hyderabad. He said India acted with full sovereignty and never allowed foreign powers to influence its decisions.
He stressed that the fight against terrorism is India’s own choice. According to him, the operation against terrorists in the India-Pakistan conflict was not suspended and it reflected India’s firm resolve.
Mr. Singh also recalled the historical importance of Hyderabad’s liberation. He said the government will continue to celebrate the day as a mark of unity and strength.
His strong statement underlined India’s clear position: the battle against cross-border terrorism is guided only by national interest.
