Islamabad: A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander has admitted that Indian forces destroyed the group’s main base at Markaz Taiba in Muridke during Operation Sindoor on May 7.
In a video shared on social media, LeT leader Qaasim stood at the site and said the camp is being rebuilt. “This mosque will rise again, bigger than before,” he declared. He also confirmed that many militants trained at the Muridke base.
Indian forces targeted nine terror sites after the killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam. The strikes hit LeT facilities in Muridke, Barnala, and Muzaffarabad, Jaish bases in Bahawalpur, and Hizbul camps in Sialkot.
Another video showed LeT deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri claiming that Pakistan’s army and government provided money for rebuilding the destroyed camp. Indian intelligence reports back this claim and warn that Lashkar plans to reopen the site on February 5, 2026—Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Earlier, Jaish commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri admitted that Masood Azhar’s family suffered major losses in the Bahawalpur strike. He also alleged that senior Pakistan Army officers attended funerals of those killed in the raids.
Operation Sindoor has forced Pakistan-based groups onto the defensive, but signs of rebuilding remain strong.
