Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh announced that Meta (formerly Facebook) is planning to bring its ‘Waterworth’ subsea cable project to Visakhapatnam, further strengthening the city’s position as a major digital hub.

Sharing a report published in the Economic Times on X (formerly Twitter), Lokesh stated that this project will help establish Visakhapatnam as India’s leading “AI and Data City.” He highlighted that after Google’s data center investment, Meta’s decision marks another major milestone for Andhra Pradesh’s technology ecosystem.
