AI‑Based Security Grid and Tracking System Deployed for Medaram Maha Jatara

For the upcoming Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara, one of India’s largest tribal festivals, Telangana authorities have put in place an advanced AI‑driven security grid to ensure safety and crowd management. As part of the Medaram 2.0 initiative, police will deploy ‘TG‑Quest’ AI‑powered drones and helium balloons with pan‑tilt‑zoom cameras to monitor crowd density, potential risks and movement over roughly 30 square kilometres of the festival area. About 13,000 police personnel will be on duty under this tech‑enhanced surveillance setup. A geo‑tag based Missing Persons Tracking System will help reunite lost children and elderly devotees with their families; QR‑coded geotags with personal information will be issued at registration points to allow rapid scanning and identification if someone goes missing. Facial recognition technology will be used at key spots such as hospital premises and parking areas to identify known offenders, and real‑time alerts will flag suspicious objects or activities. Multiple parking areas and public announcement points have also been planned for smooth management.
