Akhilesh Yadav Meets Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata

Akhilesh Yadav meets Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna

In a key political interaction, Akhilesh Yadav meets Mamata Banerjee at the West Bengal secretariat amid heightened political activity in the poll-bound state. The meeting comes at a time when debates around the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls continue to dominate the discourse.

Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, arrived at the state secretariat Nabanna around 1.40 pm. He visited Kolkata on a personal trip with his wife and Lok Sabha MP Dimple Yadav. However, the meeting carried strong political signals.

Later, while addressing reporters, Yadav praised Mamata Banerjee’s leadership. He said only “Didi” can counter the BJP’s onslaught across the country. Notably, he lauded her courage in confronting central agencies and defending democratic values.

Moreover, Akhilesh Yadav meets Mamata Banerjee to express solidarity over concerns linked to the SIR exercise. He alleged that authorities misuse the revision process to suppress opposition votes. He cited large-scale voter deletions during similar exercises in Uttar Pradesh.

The meeting lasted around 40 minutes. Finally, Yadav assured full support to Banerjee in her fight to protect democracy and constitutional institutions.
