Ambaji White Marble Gujarat GI Tag

Ambaji White Marble

The Ambaji White Marble Gujarat GI Tag brings a major milestone for Banaskantha and Gujarat. The sacred town of Ambaji, known for its Shaktipeeth, produces white marble with unmatched shine and purity. With the Ambaji White Marble Gujarat recognition, the stone now carries official protection and a stronger global identity.

The Geographical Indications Registry granted the GI tag to the Ambaji Marbles Quarry and Factory Association. Officials say the tag strengthens the marble’s brand image and increases its value in domestic and international markets. The move also supports local artisans and small industries.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel welcomed the certification. He said Ambaji marble has served temples and spiritual structures for generations. Its beauty and durability make it a preferred choice for sacred architecture. He added that the GI tag gives Gujarat a moment of pride.

Marble industrialist Kiranbhai Trivedi highlighted its long history. He said the Dilwara Jain Temple in Mount Abu uses Ambaji marble that dates back 1,200 to 1,500 years. The temple still shines with the same purity. Many experts believe the Ram Temple in Ayodhya also used this stone.

Ambaji marble contains high levels of calcium oxide and silicon oxide, which make it strong and long-lasting. Its global demand keeps rising as more temples abroad choose this timeless white stone.
