Amaravati: Former minister and senior YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu is facing a vigilance probe after fresh corruption allegations surfaced. The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered the inquiry, marking a serious setback for the leader who served as minister for five years.

Officials allege Rambabu manipulated land deals in Jagananna colonies. Reports suggest land was purchased at ₹10 lakh per acre and resold to the government at ₹30 lakh. He is also accused of selling shift operator posts in electricity centers for ₹7 lakh each.

The vigilance department has been directed to finish the probe within a month. If the charges are proven, the case will likely be handed over to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for further action.

This development signals the state’s resolve to act against corruption, even when senior political figures are involved. The outcome of the probe could have major political implications.
