The Amour Assembly seat in Bihar is witnessing an intense contest as vote counting continues. AIMIM’s Akhtarul Iman has taken a clear lead after several rounds, widening the gap with each update. His growing margin signals strong support in this Seemanchal constituency.
By 12:21 PM, officials completed the ninth round. Iman led by 14,262 votes. His margin stood at 11,952 votes after the eighth round. The seventh round also strengthened his position with an 8,956-vote lead over JDU’s Saba Zafar.
Earlier rounds painted a different picture. After the fifth round, Zafar moved ahead by 2,817 votes. The fourth round also placed Zafar in front by 1,991 votes. He led after the third and second rounds as well. However, Iman recovered quickly and gained firm control of the race.
Current figures show Iman at 34,594 votes. Zafar has 20,332 votes. Congress leader Abdul Jalil Mastan follows with 15,723 votes.
Amour remains a high-stakes constituency in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal belt. The AIMIM’s rise since 2020 has shifted regional politics. Iman won by over 52,000 votes in 2020. Mastan dominated in 2015 with a victory margin of nearly 52,000 votes. This year’s three-way clash has added new excitement and tension to the outcome.
