The Andhra Pradesh government has set a target to reduce the average cost of power purchase to ₹3.90 per unit by the year 2035. Energy Department official Vijayanand said the State is working on long-term plans to make electricity cheaper and cleaner.

He said Andhra Pradesh is moving towards net-zero carbon emissions by focusing on green energy. One major step is the production of green hydrogen, which is a clean fuel and does not pollute the environment.

The State is also building smart power grids to manage electricity more efficiently. These smart grids will help reduce power losses and improve supply. In addition, the government is encouraging people to install rooftop solar panels to increase the use of renewable energy.

By expanding solar power and other green technologies, the State hopes to reduce dependence on costly power sources. These steps will help lower electricity costs, protect the environment, and support sustainable development in Andhra Pradesh.
