Andhra Pradesh Gets ₹665 Crore Boost from Centre for Rural Jobs Scheme
The Central Government has released ₹665 crore to Andhra Pradesh under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), providing a major boost to rural development and employment generation in the State. Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan expressed his gratitude to the Centre for sanctioning and releasing the funds, stating that the move would help clear pending wage payments and accelerate ongoing works in rural areas. He emphasized that the financial support reflects the Centre’s commitment to empowering rural communities and ensuring timely implementation of welfare schemes. The funds are expected to be utilized for various infrastructure and livelihood projects, including water conservation, land development, and road construction. Officials noted that the release would also enhance livelihood security for rural households by ensuring continued employment opportunities. The State government has directed district authorities to ensure transparent and efficient use of the funds.
