The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified its efforts to combat plastic pollution by imposing a ban on the use of plastic in government offices. Minister Narayana announced that from October 2 , on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, plastic usage will be prohibited across all government institutions.

The state has set a target to completely eliminate waste, including plastic, by December 31. This initiative aims to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability in public offices.

Currently, the ban on plastic is already being implemented at the Amaravati Secretariat, and the government is working towards expanding this restriction across the entire state. This move is in line with the government’s commitment to environmental conservation and reducing plastic pollution, contributing to cleaner and greener public spaces in Andhra Pradesh.
