AP CM Pushes ₹33K-Cr Rail Drive to Power Port, Logistics Growth

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu asked railway officials to speed up ₹33,630 crore projects to strengthen rail links to Andhra Pradesh’s key ports — Moolapet, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, and Ramayapatnam. At a review meeting in the Secretariat, he said these new lines will help make Andhra Pradesh a national logistics hub.

Naidu said better rail connectivity will boost exports and draw major industries to the state. He announced that an integrated logistics park will soon come up to support multimodal transport with the Centre’s help.

Officials updated him on the Nadikudi–Srikalahasti, Guntur–Guntakal, and Rayadurg–Tumakuru projects. Naidu released ₹27 crore for the Nadikudi–Srikalahasti line and told them to make the Kotipalli–Narsapur and Kakinada–Amalapuram routes operational soon.

He approved land for new coaching terminals at Amaravati and Gannavaram. Naidu asked for modernization of Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati stations, including a skywalk at Tirupati. Rail officials said 73 stations are being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and Rajahmundry station redevelopment will finish before Godavari Pushkaralu.
