Ashok Gehlot Steps In to End Grand Alliance Seat-Sharing Rift

Ashok Gehlot discussing Grand Alliance seat-sharing issue

The Grand Alliance seat-sharing issue has sparked tension before Bihar’s first voting phase. Parties within the alliance have fielded rival candidates in several constituencies, creating confusion. Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has reached Patna to handle the matter. He will meet Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav to resolve disputes over 13 assembly seats like Vaishali, Kahalgaon, and Bihar Sharif.

Although the Grand Alliance finalized its seat-sharing plan, internal clashes continue because 256 candidates were announced for 243 seats. Gehlot’s discussions are expected to calm disagreements among RJD, Congress, CPI, and VIP parties. A joint press conference is planned on October 23rd to share the alliance’s final strategy.

If successful, this effort may unite the Grand Alliance ahead of the elections, strengthening its campaign against the ruling side. The Grand Alliance seat-sharing issue will determine how smoothly the opposition fights together in Bihar’s crucial election.
